Mental Health and Wellbeing

“It’s okay not to be okay.”

At The Village Saints Partnership, we are deeply committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our entire school community. We recognise that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable; at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We firmly believe that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a vital role to play.

Our Whole-School Approach

To ensure our schools are spaces where mental health is proactively nurtured, we explicitly focus on eight core areas:

  • Emotional Literacy: Helping children to understand, name, and navigate their emotions and feelings.
  • Open Communication: Creating safe environments where children feel completely comfortable sharing concerns or worries.
  • Social Connections: Assisting children in forming, developing, and maintaining healthy peer relationships.
  • Self-Worth: Promoting high self-esteem and ensuring every child knows that they truly matter.
  • Confidence & Agency: Encouraging children to grow in independence and find their unique voice.
  • Emotional Resilience: Equipping pupils with the tools to manage setbacks and build long-term resilience.
  • Values-Driven Support: Grounding our wellbeing strategies within our core school vision and ethos.
  • Specialist Care: Maintaining certified, trained Mental Health Champions across both school sites.
